Review - The Little Box Of Goodies.

If you are a dessert person based in the UK, stay put. I have got something amazing for you.

So this week, I got sent two jars of dessert to try out by The Little Box Of Goodies. I was a bit skeptical about having dessert that was baked a few days ago and still arriving fresh. But as soon as I opened the box, I literally could not contain the happiness.

Shazia, the founder of the dessert company, sent me two flavours. Victoria Sponge and Chocolate and Salted Caramel. I dove right in for the latter, by the way.

These desserts are completely homemade. Even the caramel sauce. So you don't have to worry about what ingredients are gone into to the making. Once baked, these little babies are then packed fresh into small glass jars and stay fresh up to 7 days.

Starting with Chocolate and Salted Caramel, when I opened the jar, there were little chunks of fudge caramel sitting on the top calling out my name. Dug in a spoon and those were the best 5 seconds of my life. The sponge was so soft, that it felt like it was baked 5 minutes ago. The jar has three layers then doubled with three more layers again. So bottom we have the sponge, buttercream and then the caramel.

My husband has happily agreed to buying more of these for movie nights. And my little one wants more 'deliciousness.'

So after having the Chocolate one, I was excited to try the Victoria Sponge. Now, I am not a huge fan of jam based desserts. I do not really like jam. But nonetheless, I was excited to try it out! Opening it up, there sits a layer of buttercream with a layer of jam underneath and then the Victoria sponge.

My first bite had the jam coming in too strong but mixed with the rest, it started to taste better. I did not know when I finished it, but when I did, there was no feeling of guilt. I kind of liked the jam-y flavour. Now, I know, jam is not my favourite but this had such an amazing taste, I wanted to have more of it. I might just start trying out jam based desserts that have a lesser jam flavour to it.

Shazia offers two more flavours in the cake jars. Tangy lemon with red velvet and Cookies and Cream. And this gets even better. She just got a 5 star rating from the Food Standard Agency. So now you should have absolutely no worries at all! She also does more desserts like cupcakes, giant cookies and cakes.

Which flavour will you be choosing? I am definitely going to reach for the Salted Caramel one again and definitely trying out Tangy lemon with red velvet.
