5 Ideas For Home Therapy.

I love decorating. In my free time, I browse through furniture websites and create a mental image of how my house would look with that particular piece of furniture. No matter what size of the house, big or small, you can completely change the look of it with good furniture pieces, accessories and good lighting!

Here are some of my ideas of how I would want my room to look like and a general idea of how you can change your rooms look in no time! I do try incorporating some of these pieces in my current house.

1. Bedroom

I absolutely love an attic bedroom. Or something that looks over the skyline of the city! It is just the perfect bedroom decor fantasy. I love bedrooms that are cosy, minimal yet make a bold statement. Absolutely not a fan of modern minimal bedrooms. The master bedroom should make a statement on its own. It should be a place that shows that family is welcomed inside, perfect for cosy night and camping in the main bedroom. Right now, I really really want an attic bedroom with the skylight opening up into a balcony. It doesn't matter if the balcony looks over the garden or the street. Just waking up and walking to the balcony in the morning, gives me morning goals! A chesterfield bed with grey and white tones, is absolutely perfect!

2. Living room.

Now living room is that one place that i spend my entire day in! I won't leave the sofa until I really have to. And because of that, I want my sofa, cosy as ever and the ambiance just about perfect! I love a living room that has a lot of natural light coming in. If there is no natural light, it just won't work for me! Light furniture, with a dark ambiance with lots of natural light. If that makes sense. Ironically, even though I have a lot of natural light coming in my current living room, I have an extremely dark furniture theme going on and I am itching like crazy to change it.
Even before I was married and our family got a new home, I kept asking mum to do a brick feature wall for the television but sadly that didn't work out either. Fabric sofas with plush throws and lots of cushions and just the right kind of lighting gets me stay put in my living room!

3. Reading nook.

EVERY house should have a specific reading corner! If not a reading corner then definitely a reading chair! While browsing through for ideas, all I found was shelves and all kinds of fancy decor for the reading corner. For me, I want it minimal. A big simple chair or a bean bag with a plush throw to snuggle into and a reading light with copper accents is the best thing ever! Maybe a shelf in the corner too. But just a small one. Nothing too big that takes the attention away from the book! In my own room, at my mothers place, I had a big bean bag that I loved just flopping into with a good book to read! I spent hours just drowned into the bean bag and living the book life!

4. Kitchen.

Even though, I love big kitchens and I can not lie (see what I did there?) But they are a huge hassle to clean up! When it comes to kitchens, I want my kitchen looking country style even in a small apartment. Lots of natural light and dark accents with a little breakfast bar in the middle. Somewhere you can sit and talk to the person cooking dinner. Or get the school homework down while I am cooking!

5. Conservatory.

This has GOT to be the favourite part of the house. A little corner sofa where you can just sit and have coffee or in my case, tea. Just looking out the window and if its raining, just staring into blank space. I love natural light in the house so the conservatory is my favourite spot! And of course, the dining area! I love large family gatherings and just laughing and eating and generally talking and a dining area in the conservatory makes it just about magical!

Whats your favourite part of the house? and how do you love decorating it? Let me know in the comments down below! :)

My favourite room is my bedroom.the least I could do to decorate it is - keep it tidy and well arranged. :-)

I think I'm not using my balcony to it's full potential. Currently I use it only to dry my clothes I would love to add a garden there. Perhaps, in future I could add a small coffee table.
