Monthly Favourites - Winter Essentials.

As much as I love winter, I hate what it does to my skin. As soon as winter hits, my skin starts becoming patchy and I breakout all over my face. In fact, every time I wake up in the morning, I have to face a new zit which I HAVE to pick, further damaging my skin! But since the past two months, I have been trying out a new skin regime which has miraculously worked really really well for me and I am so glad about it.

So what really worked for my skin and body? Well, here is a little overview:

1. Skin Doctor's Ingrow Go:

Ingrown hair is the bane of my life. I can't wear skirts or midi dresses only because of the sole reason: ingrown hair. Especially during winters when you are prone to wear more tight-fitted clothes, your skin doesn't get the breathing space that it requires and the hair follicle doesn't really grow out straight enough to sprout through the skin. I have been using skin doctors for quite some time now and I have been loving the results. I can still wear my cosy tights and not worry about ingrown hair that much. I still have a long way to go to clear up my legs, but this has definitely helped a lot. I do wish I had the confidence to post a before and after picture. Perhaps in the near future but take my word for it when I do say that I have seen a massive difference! I ordered this from the Chemist4U website which doesn't just stock up medicines but a whole lot of other beauty related stuff too and at a very discounted rate as well!

2. Liz Earle Hot Polish Cleanser:

Many people don't even know how to use a cleanser properly. Many skip the step of cleansing their skin after taking off the makeup. I was one of those people. Until very recently I discovered the joy of cleansing my skin. And honestly, guys, it is the best feeling ever. Right after removing my makeup with micellar water, I use this hot polish cleanser to take off the remaining makeup. Massage it into your skin for 3/4 minutes and then remove it with the muslin cloth that it comes with. You guys! My skin has become so much clearer and I see fewer breakouts on my skin now! The muslin cloth rinsed in hot water makes so much of a difference and the feeling is so soothing! I legit use this every single day. I bought a travel sized one from Boots but have ordered a full-size cleanser!

3. The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil:

Tea tree oil was one of the things that while growing up, it broke me out so bad and I hated the smell. But you gotta do what you gotta do for your skin, isn't it? This little bottle has been my skin saviour! I use it every night before I go to bed and see my skin so supple and fresh in the morning. Apply it to a fresh breakout and it will literally make it go away in two days! I have a habit of picking on my spots and I used to apply them to the raw ones and it stung my skin like a bitch but it did the job!

4. O.P.I Nail polishes:

I am not a nail person at all but over the past few weeks, I have been taking care of my hands as well because, girl, nobody wants to see patchy hands and dirty nails. I make sure that I get a manicure every month if not twice. Even got my husband hooked on getting a manicure done haha! For the longest time, I was trying to invest in good nail colours that would last for at least three days without a top coat. And O.P.I is so expensive elsewhere. I couldn't justify spending £10 on a single nail colour. Again, I ordered these from Chemist4U for only frigging £2.99!!! Can you believe it? I was kind of skeptical that they might be fake or expired but they ain't no joke! I got them in super wintery/autumnal colours and LOVE the shades.

5. Avene Thermal Spring Water:

Now you see this and think, what is the fuss about spring water in a bottle. Let me tell you if you want your makeup to be FLAWLESS, this tiny bottle is magic. Again, I picked up the travel size version from Boots but I am definitely getting a bigger bottle. Spray it all over your face before blending in your foundation and your makeup is going to look next level skin like. No creases, no fine lines and no caked up makeup. And it gives such a fresh look to your skin. This has quickly become one of the cult products in my makeup bag and cant travel without it anywhere. Even if you don't want to use it for your makeup, just spritz it all over your face to wake you up. Also works a treat during a hot summer day.

6. The Body Shop's Japanese Matcha Tea Mask:

Ever since I moved to London, The Body Shop has slowly made its way to my skincare routine. I absolutely love their products. No fads, no bullshit but pure products that ACTUALLY work on your skin. The expert facial masks from The Body Shop are my favourite. After the Chinese Ginseng mask, this mask is literally the best. The trick to The Body Shop's masks is to keep them for more than 45 minutes on your face and see them work their magic. This mask detoxes your face and cleans out all the impurities and makes your skin look healthy, radiant and supple. The number of times I have recommended The Body Shop to friends, family, and strangers, they should hire me. Or at least pay me for advertisement. This mask is a must buy for oily/combination skin! I can not rave about this mask enough!

I really really hope that this list has been helpful for you! I know a lot of people had been asking me about the products I have been using to clear my skin out and so finally here is the list!
Do you have any winter cult favourites? I would love to know and try them out!
