How my Cleansing Game has Changed over the past Year.

It feels so weird writing a blog post after so long. Having started my YouTube channel, my blog kind of got neglected and I was just doing ad stuff over here. But ladies and gents (not so much) I am back.

So I have had quite a few people ask me about how my makeup application looks so flawless and how amazing my foundation settles onto my skin (if I say so myself) and the best reply I can come up with, is, I have completely changed my skin care game. I have started focusing on products that suit my skin instead of trying all new products under the sun. Ageing doesn't take time, let me tell you that. So if you need to slow down the ageing process, you need to focus more on what your skin needs instead of what you want to buy.

Having never focused on removing makeup properly, my skin was in a horrible mess. Like literally scarred and bumpy. But last year I picked up the Liz Earl Hot Polish cleanser and from then onwards I was hooked. My skin improved drastically and I could see a definite change in the texture of my skin.

But before I move on to talking about the cleansers, I need to talk about a cleansing tool, without which my skin wouldn't be the same. Of course, when you buy the hot polish cleansers, you get a muslin cloth to remove the make-up with. But they are just your regular, off the block, muslin cloths. What I use for the hot polish cleansers is the revolutionary cloth cleanser, Cloud Cloud. And I kid you not, I absolutely LOVE LOVE cleansing at night. Whats new with this, you say? The Cloud Cloth is a dual effect cleansing cloth. One side has a buffer that takes away all the dead skin off of your face and makes it mega clean. While the other side is literally as soft as a cloud which is suitable for people with extremely sensitive skin. It makes my routine so much fun. You just need to run the cloth under hot water and wipe away your day's makeup and grime off your skin.

Ditch the wipes. Seriously. They ruin your skin. And two, they are not environmental friendly. Imagine the number of wipes we have used over the years to remove our makeup and how much damage they do to the environment. it takes 100 YEARS for a wipe to biodegrade. Imagine. A whole century for something so trivial as removing makeup.

Talking about my favourite cleansers, I have finally narrowed it down to my top three that have made an improvement in my skin: The Liz Earl Hot Polish cleanser of course. Tatcha Cleansing Oil and Your Good Skin Comforting cleanser. All three of them are cruelty free which is an added bonus.
But just to let you know, before you make any purchases, my skin type is combination throughout the entire year but becomes really dry and patchy from December to February.

The Liz Earl Hot polish cleanser is not new to the beauty world and tops everything. It is a basic creamy cleanser enriched with cocoa butter, chamomile and eucalyptus to brighten, freshen and revive your skin. I literally just slather it all over my face and then take it off with a Cloud Cloth rinsed in hot water. It is so satisfying to see your makeup come off in literally one wipe of the cloth!

The second cleanser that I absolutely love is the Your Good Skin Cleanser. It is a gel cleanser that literally melts your makeup off. The website tells you to lather it on your face and wash it with warm water but I like to you use it with a Cloud Cloth to make it even more effective and also, it doesn't even dry my skin out. If you have really sensitive skin, then this is the one for you.

The third and the expensive one out of the lot is the Tatcha One Step Cleansing oil. I bought the Tatcha bestsellers kit and this was included in the box. It is an oil cleanser which, many combination or oily skin people are skeptical to try out but imagine my surprise when it worked like a dream on my skin. The website tells you to rub the oil onto dry face and then wash it off with warm water but I like to use it with a brush cleanser, Magnitone (which by the way is an EXACT dupe of the Clarisonic Mia cleanser for a fraction of the price). I use the brush cleanser once a week so that it's not too hard on my skin and that's when I use my tatcha cleansing oil.

And that is a wrap to my top three cleansers. Always remember, if you want your skin to glow, to be radiant and have an amazing texture, the basic thing to do is to take care of it. Drink lots of water, use products that suit YOUR SKIN and not what is hot on Instagram. ALWAYS remove your makeup at the end of the day. I have been taking care of my skin so much that I can finally go foundation free most days and just need a little bit of concealer. Cleanse your skin and always keep it mostutised even if you have an oily skin type.
